First, what is the Aspect Ratio?
Aspect ratio is the relationship between the width of a video image compared to its height. The two most common aspect ratios are 4:3, also known as fullscreen, and 16:9, also known as widescreen. (Larger aspect ratio formats are used in the motion picture industry.)
Which one is the best?
According to ergonomic research, the human visual field is similar to a 16" x 9" rectangle, making this ratio the “golden proportion.” Therefore, 16:9 allows for a more immersive viewing experience without having to crop the image on the screen.
It is the standard in today’s digital media for digital displays of any kind (and the content played on them), having replaced the 4:3 aspect ratio used in older TVs and older PowerPoint versions. It is ideally suited to display HD video signals.
